Weekend winners: TWO lottery players from the same province split second prize

What are the odds of two Canadian lottery players matching the same winning numbers in a draw? As it turns out, it’s more likely than one would think.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, November 15, and the jackpot was worth an impressive $65 million. The winning numbers were 02, 07, 10, 14, 27, 32, 35, and bonus 44, but no one won the top prize.

However, two people came close to it after matching six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number. According to PlayNow, two lucky winners will split the second prize and will soon receive $125,952.40 each. Both of the winning tickets were sold in Ontario.

The third prize was split between 57 people after they matched six of the seven winning numbers and they’ll each receive a $4,419.40 prize.

During Friday’s draw, eight Maxmillions prizes were also up for grabs, but no one won a single $1 million prize.

As for the Lotto Max Extra prize, no one matched the winning numbers 19, 46, 53, and 76 to win the $500,000 prize. According to OLG, the Encore winning number was 5351484, but no one won the $1 million prize.

If you’re hoping to try your luck in the next draw, the prize just got even bigger.

“In the next Lotto Max draw, slated for Tuesday, November 19, the prize pool will amount to $80 million and include a $70 million jackpot and an estimated 10 Maxmillions,” states Loto-Québec.

The last time someone won a Lotto Max top prize was on October 15, when a lottery player matched the winning numbers 08, 12, 19, 20, 26, 32, and 46. According to PlayNow, the lucky ticket was sold in Etobicoke, Ontario.
