Weekend winners: One Canadian lottery player just became an instant millionaire

What would you do if you won a million dollars? That just became a happy reality for one very lucky Canadian lottery player.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, November 16, and there was a $30 million Gold Ball prize to be won. Although no one won the jackpot, someone did win the guaranteed White Ball prize. Someone in Canada will be waking up to the news that they’re now $1 million richer after they matched the winning number 30183765-20. According to PlayNow, the ticket was sold somewhere in Western Canada.

The Classic Draw winning numbers were 07, 14, 21, 30, 32, 42, and bonus 15, but no one won the $5 million top prize. However, after matching five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, two people did win the second prize. Split between the two, each will soon receive a cheque for $99,271.10. One ticket was sold in Quebec and another in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

In BC, someone won a $500,000 prize after they matched the Classic Draw Extra numbers 6, 48, 69, and 80. The winning ticket was sold in Youbou. As it turns out, one lottery player else also became a millionaire after Saturday night’s draw. According to OLG, someone in Ontario matched the Encore number 2070795, thereby winning the $1 million top prize.

The last time someone won the jackpot was in the October 9 draw when six strangers in Quebec split the $32 million prize. Read their story here.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20. The Gold Ball prize is now worth $32 million, and there are 19 balls left.
