It will be an unforgettable weekend for one Canadian lottery player who just won a life-changing prize.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, December 14, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $46 million. No one won the top prize this time, but someone in Quebec is now $1 million richer after they matched the White Ball winning number 65844094-01.
Across the country, someone will be also waking up to some unexpected news.
According to PlayNow, the Lotto 6/49 Classic winning numbers were 03, 04, 13, 16, 27, 43, and bonus 38. Someone matched all six numbers, netting themselves a $5 million prize. The lucky ticket was sold in Western Canada.
After they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, three lottery players from Ontario will split the third prize. As a result, each of them will soon be getting a cheque for $61,506.10.
The wins don’t end there.
Someone in BC just won $500,000 after matching the Lotto 6/49 Extra winning numbers 57, 64, 70, and 75. The ticket was sold in Coquitlam. No one won the Encore prize, which is worth $1 million.
It’s been several months since someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
During the October 9 Lotto 6/49 draw, six strangers from Quebec split the staggering $32 million Gold Ball jackpot.
Each person bought a Formule Groupe ticket, which allows you to purchase one or more shares in a group formed by a retailer. This one was sold in five shares and will be split between the six players, each getting $6.4 million.
They all met for the first time when they went to the Loto-Québec office to celebrate their win. Read the full story here.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw will take place on Wednesday, December 18. The Gold Ball prize is now worth $48 million.
