The Utah Hockey Club will get a new coat of paint next season and the proposed logos have been leaked.
Last week, the team revealed the three finalists for the new team name (Mammoth, Outlaws, and Hockey Club). Fans attending games last week voted on these options and were shown the proposed logos and jerseys for each.
Luckily, those photos have been leaked online by Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli. The jerseys shown aren’t too notable as they all resemble the uniforms currently being worn by Utah. The logos, on the other hand, have caused quite a stir, specifically in how generic they look.
Can confirm these are the official logos that have been presented to @utahhockeyclub fans as part of their team name vote.

The team had to act fast to swap out one of those names last week as they took out the “Wasatch” option in favour of the “Outlaws” name. For that reason, you could probably excuse Utah’s graphic design department for cooking up a rather uninspired logo for that option.
The issue is that all three of these logos have a bit of a generic feel to them. Hockey fans, by and large, seemed to feel the same as many likened the design to the generic “create a team” logos that you can find in the EA Sports NHL video-game series.
It also revealed that the team is still pursuing a Yeti-like logo despite not being able to secure the name due to trademark issues with the popular Yeti cooler company. If the team sticks with Utah Hockey Club as their name, a Yeti will be their first choice for a logo.
There has also been a bit of disappointment in the colour scheme, particularly with the lack of purple. Many thought that the Utah NHL team would align with the brand identity of the NBA’s Utah Jazz, especially since Ryan Smith owns both franchises. These mockups seem to indicate that they will be sticking with the “rock black, salt white, and mountain blue” colour scheme that they unveiled over the summer.
It’s not known when the team will release the winner of the name vote, but fans shouldn’t expect an official reveal of the logo and jersey this season. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday’s episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast that a reveal is expected after the season at the 2025 NHL Draft.
“The rumour is that they’re gonna unveil the logo and the jersey with their first-round draft pick this year,” Friedman reported.
Whether or not these are the final drafts of the new team logo is yet to be seen, but a little more time making them less generic would probably do a world of good.
