Popular ramen spot to open its first Edmonton location this year

Edmonton’s ramen scene is booming, with dozens of fantastic restaurants serving up steaming bowls of broth packed with silky noodles. Now, a Toronto-based brand is gearing up to open its first in the city this year.

Back in June, Kinton Ramen confirmed it was eyeing up locations in Edmonton. We now finally know where the spot will be heading.

Kinton Ramen will open its first YEG location in Terra Losa, with the spot slated to open in the summer.

Kinton Ramen, known for its authentic Japanese ramen and casual dining experience, signed an Area Representative Agreement last year with The Labreche Group to open 12 outposts in Alberta over the next five years.

Karalyn White, senior director of franchising at Kinka Family, the restaurant group behind Kinton Ramen, told Dished that while the majority of those outposts will be in Calgary and Edmonton, spots including Banff and Red Deer will also be targeted.
