Oilers goalie Skinner gets new endorsement deal with jeans company

Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner has gained a new endorsement deal with a jeans company.

The 25-year-old Skinner is trying out his modelling chops, posing for multiple photos while showing off Duer-branded jeans. The Vancouver-based company has signed the Oilers goaltender to an endorsement deal after officially opening their first Edmonton storefront in Southgate this week.

Skinner was already known for his luscious stache, and now he is ready to show off his more fashionable side.

It appears that Skinner wanted to show off the flexibility of his Duer jeans throughout the shoot, posing with a more formal look in one photo while taking a more active role in a few others. He even decided to lace up the skates and take his place inside the crease, without his usual pads, of course.

Duer’s website says that it specializes in manufacturing “stretch performance denim and lifestyle apparel,” which makes it an obvious choice for endorsing an NHL athlete. Deur CEO Gary Lenett says Skinner was an easy choice to partner with.

“Partnering with Edmonton’s own Stuart Skinner is a natural fit as he embodies the active, on-the-go lifestyle that our clothing is designed for and has deep roots in the community,” Lenett said in a press release.

While Skinner and the Oilers’ season on the ice hasn’t been going quite according to plan, it appears the off-ice business is going just fine.
