“Didn’t feel special at all”: Fans complain Taylor Swift’s Eras ending was anti-climatic

After what felt like a fortnight for people in downtown Vancouver, Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is now over. Reaction to the massively popular final shows is pouring in, and some fans admit they were a bit disappointed.

While thousands of fans have taken to social media to gush over the four-hour-long shows, held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, respectively, some suggest that Sunday night’s ending lacked a certain sparkle.

“Maybe abit hotake but I rlly don’t like how it ended 😂. Like It didn’t feel special at all apart from long live and it being the end. it felt like it was very overshadowed 1)” one person commented on TikTok after user nicks.version rounded up the highlights of the final night.

There were rumours of special guests, like potentially Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, or even a superstar singer like Tim McGraw or BC’s own Michael Buble, but the special guests included tour open Gracie Abrams instead, who joined Swift on Saturday night.

“100% agree. I love taylor but i feel like she could’ve done something more special for vancouver n3. I mean even london n8 was better,” one suggested.

Other hopes included a new album or another major announcement to close out the end of the tour, which didn’t come.

“I wasn’t expecting an announcement, but I would’ve loved to have Aaron and Jack as the final guests, or something small, like a final new outfit,” they said.

Others said they felt disappointed that Swift repeated some of the surprise songs and costumes that she had worn previously in other cities.

“Surprise songs were great choices, and yay for getting in the doc, but I feel so bad for Vancouver to be getting the same stuff every night,” one said.

“I hate to say it, but I do feel the same. I feel bad for Vancouver. They kind of got the shaft. “What a bland goodbye.” 🥺” they said.

“We all had huge expectations because we know her, she could’ve gone crazy and do something amazing, London what more of a show than these last two 🥹🥹”

Another person suggested the final moment, when Swift left the stage, was also a bit lackluster since she typically would descend dramatically into the stage but instead opted to walk out.

“I’m pretty sure she didn’t even wave goodbye she just hugged her dancers and left thru the door ??😭” one person shared.

Another person agreed, saying they “didn’t want to say it, BUT the ending was so anti-climax. 😭 such a shame, she could have done so much.”

Of course, many disagreed completely, suggesting that the show was perfect as it showcased Swift, and fans were able to get a real, emotional, and electric show from the star.

“Yall are so entitled I swear,” one fan accused.

Others suggested that the experience was new to those who hadn’t attended multiple shows on the tour.

“Be so freaking for real. Not special? TAYLOR SWIFT performed for the 149th time. For 3 and half hours. She performed the eras tour. Isn’t the eras tour special enough?”
