For one Canadian lottery player, a spur-of-the-moment decision turned into a life-changing moment with an unexpected win.
Mojtaba Mirchi lives in Montérégie, Quebec, and has been playing the lottery since he moved there thirty years ago. One day, he was sitting rather comfortably on his couch and watching a movie when he decided to buy a lottery ticket. So, he purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket on the Loto-Quebec gaming website.
However, Mirchi could not have predicted just how drastically his life would change due to that spontaneous decision.

On November 14, he received a phone call — it was a staff member from Loto-Quebec urging him to check his online gaming account.
He admitted that he was initially somewhat skeptical, but he was stunned when he saw the result. After matching the winning numbers 05, 15, 17, 29, 35, and 45, he won the Lotto 6/49 Classic prize in the November 13 draw, making him $5 million richer.
He called out to his wife and asked her to join him upstairs. When he shared the news with her, he recalled that she screamed for joy.

While at the Loto-Quebec headquarters, Mirchi said he plans to use his windfall to buy a new home.
The last time someone won the $5 million Lotto 6/49 Classic prize was during the December 14 draw. However, it’s been several months since someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
