The Toronto Blue Jays and Cavan Biggio appear to officially be parting ways.
According to a Wednesday report from ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Los Angeles Dodgers are acquiring the superutilityman in a one-for-one trade with the Blue Jays.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are acquiring superutilityman Cavan Biggio in a trade from the Toronto Blue Jays, sources tell ESPN.
Biggio, 29, was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last week. He’s hitting .200/.323/.291 this year and .227/.343/.382 for his career.

In return for the 29-year-old, Toronto has reportedly acquired right-handed reliever Braydon Fisher from Los Angeles.
Biggio, a Houston, Texas native has hit .200 with two homers over 44 games this season and has struck out 42 times in 110 at-bats. The veteran was designated for assignment by the Jays on Friday.
Selected by Toronto in the fifth-round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Biggio made his Blue Jays debut in 2019.
Biggio had a .234 batting average with 83 hits, 16 homers, 48 RBIs and 66 runs scored in 100 games for the Blue Jays in his rookie season in 2019. His batting average topped out at .250 in 2020 and has averaged .227 over the course of his six years with Toronto.
Fisher, meanwhile, has posted a 5.68 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A this season. The 23-year-old pitcher has a 4.53 ERA throughout 134 pro outings.
