Alberta’s top 85 employers are hiring and the perks look awesome

If you’re looking to start 2025 right with a new career, you may want to take a look at some of Alberta’s top employers.

We looked at Mediacorp’s list of Alberta’s top 85 employers and selected five currently hiring for positions across the province.

The list uses a variety of criteria to evaluate companies, including workplace, work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

UFA Co-operative Limited

  • Who: UFA, or the United Farmers of Alberta, is one of Canada’s largest co-operatives that provides products, services and solutions to owners and customers in rural communities in order to run their operations.
  • Perks: Increased mental health benefits, flex days policy, 30% off in-store purchases, and discounted vehicle fuel purchases at over 100 Cardlock fuel depots across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
  • Jobs: It’s hiring for multiple positions province-wide, including a sales analyst in Calgary, a warehouse shipper in Edmonton, and a site supervisor in Provost.

PCL Construction

  • Who: PCL is a group of independent general contracting construction companies in Canada, the United States, Australia and the Caribbean, with headquarters in Edmonton.
  • Perks: Provides various learning opportunities for employees, including the PCL College of Construction and in-house apprenticeships. Its head office employees are offered free memberships to an onsite fitness centre open to family members and retirees.
  • Jobs: PCL Construction is hiring for various jobs in Alberta right now, including a payroll manager position in the Edmonton area and positions in the trades in Calgary.

  • Who: The ATCO Group is a publicly traded engineering, logistics and energy holding company based in Calgary. ATCO’s subsidiaries include electric utilities, natural gas production and distribution companies, and construction companies.

  • Who: Pembina Pipeline Corporation is a leading energy transportation and midstream service provider serving North America’s energy industry for over 65 years.
  • Perks: In-house training initiatives, tuition subsidies for employees, and academic scholarships for employees’ children.
  • Jobs: It’s hiring for positions across northern, central, and southern Alberta right now, from transport network analysts to tradesmen and engineering interns.

  • Who: Alberta Blue Cross is one of Alberta’s largest healthcare insurance providers.
