A MASSIVE drive-thru Christmas light display just opened near Edmonton

A massive drive-thru Christmas display is finally open just outside of Edmonton, and it’s shaping up to be a must-visit this holiday season.

Similar to the Magic of Lights south of Edmonton, Borealis Lights in St. Albert is a dazzling light display in the Kinsmen RV Park.

The display promises more than 800,000 twinkling holiday lights, with plenty of light displays and, of course, a drive-thru holiday tunnel that you, your friends, and your family will marvel at.

A brand-new feature this year is an enormous 85-foot animated light tree, promising to be the tallest light tree in Western Canada.

Tickets can be bought in advance, as there is a $5 surcharge for tickets purchased at the gate. The park noted that wait times to get into the park may also be longer during peak hours.

It takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes to drive through. Borealis Lights also encourages visitors to drive slowly (3 km/hour) to enjoy the lights and take photos or videos.

The event began on November 22 and is open from 5 to 9 pm Mondays to Thursdays and 5 to 10 pm Fridays and Saturdays until January 5.

Extended hours will also be available every day from December 20 to January 1.

It will also be open every day, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
