Alberta has plenty of strong and successful businesses, and one company nestled in a hamlet just outside of Edmonton has landed in the top 25 best employers in Canada.
The Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers 2025 has been revealed, and the highest-ranked company headquartered in Alberta is located in a hamlet, to boot.
Before we get to which company made the list and where it is, let’s break down how Forbes compiled its list, shall we?
How the ranking was made
To determine the ranking, the business magazine partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 40,000 Canada-based employees working for companies and institutions that employ at least 500 individuals within Canada. Survey respondents (who remained anonymous so they could answer freely) were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and rate it based on a range of criteria, including salary, work flexibility, training programs, and opportunities to advance.
Participants were also asked if they would recommend their previous employers (within the past two years) and those employers they knew through their experience in the industry or through friends or family who worked there.
Responses were then tallied, and the analysis included survey data from the last three years, which brought about a more round look at the organizations that ranked well time and time again, compared to those that may have just had a banner year.
The more recent data and the evaluations from current employees were weighted more heavily than others. Ultimately, each employer was given a score, and the top 300 organizations made our list of Canada’s Best Employers 2025.
