Young man sought in 2 convenience store armed robberies

Police are asking the public for help finding a person suspected of robbing two convenience stores last month.

The first robbery was reported in the Greenfield neighbourhood on Nov. 23. Police said the person, believed to be a boy or man between the ages of 16 and 20, pointed a gun at the store clerk before stealing cigarettes and cash.

During the second robbery in Crawford Plains on Nov. 29, the robber walked in wearing a medical mask at around 5:45 a.m. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded cigarettes and cash. After filling a bag with the items, police said he headed west into a nearby residential area.

The man or boy is described as having a fit build and curly black hair. He stands about 175 centimetres (5’9″).

At the most recent robbery, he was wearing a black jacket, black pants, black shoes and black gloves. His gun is described as a black or dark gray handgun with paint chips and scratches on its frame.

Police are asking residents in Pollard Meadows, Crawford Plains and Daly Grove neighbourhoods to check security camera and dashcam footage from Nov. 29 between 4:45 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.
