Picking up passports in Edmonton has become even more difficult after a leak was found in Canada Place’s hot water system.
Last week, the downtown federal building was closed to tenants and the public due to the leak. With Canada Post still on strike, it was the only option for people to get their hands on new passports.
People who were instructed to pick up their passports at Canada Place will have to visit the Service Canada centre located in Londonderry Mall instead.
Those needing a passport within nine days are asked to apply for “urgent service” at the Londonderry Mall location. Once they’ve applied, they will be available for pick up in Calgary at the Harry Hays Building located at 220 4 Ave. SE.
