The World’s Longest Baseball Game is back to raise money for the Cancer Foundation. And with more than 50 players participating in the event, they are pitching to set a new world record.
Since Thursday, the game has not stopped in Saiker’s Acres east of Edmonton.
Players are on the field 24/7, all with the with the goal of raising raise $300,000 for the Cross Cancer Institute. Despite the exhausting activities, players like Dustin Miller don’t want to let his fellow partners down.
“I’m the loudest guy out there always. I’m kind of a vibes guy, I’m not the best baseball player, but I’m here to have a good time, I want to keep everybody happy and uplifted,” explained Miller.
And with his uplifting energy, he even lost his voice.
“I will be the loudest guy and that’s why I don’t have a voice right now, I lost it yesterday yelling and screaming all night.”
Some new participants joined the cause and saw how the community supports the organization as well as the longest game.
“It’s great, I think to see everyone come together for a common goal is just something that so special. And you really gotta come out to see the true effect it has on people, it’s amazing,” said Trevor Martin, Catcher.

Attempting to break the previous 101-hour record time set in 2019, Brent Saik aims to beat it by the end of the event and sees no end to the tradition.
“There’s no end date, we’re gonna do this forever … I hope generational, my son has great friends and my friends has great children and they’re gonna hopefully continue that on,” said Saik.
