We’re learning more about the central Edmonton building where a security guard was shot and killed one week ago.
Edmonton police confirmed they’ve been to the building before. In fact, just two weeks before the homicide, they were called to a separate shooting.
On November 21st, the man shot survived, and police continue to investigate.
Police, also confirmed they requested the city review the business license of the building in January.
A spokesperson for the City of Edmonton confirmed there is an active investigation into the building under their problem property initiative and since May, there have been five tickets.
CityNews also reached out to the building owner to talk about saftey in the building, but were told no comment.
A funeral for security guard Harshandeep Singh is scheduled for Sunday.
Singh was just three days on the job, and working alone, in the early morning of December 6th when he was shot.
Two people have been arrested and charged with first degree murder and both have lengthy court records.
