The homicide section of the Edmonton police are investigating the suspicious death of a 46-year-old man that took place in central Edmonton in October 2024.
In a news release Friday, officials said on Oct. 20, 2024, Downtown Branch Patrol officers responded to assist EMS and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) with crowd control as they tended to an unresponsive male at 96 Street and 105 Avenue.
The man was declared deceased on the scene. However, after the medical examiner completed the autopsy, the manner and cause of death were not determined.
Staff Sergeant Andrew Larson with the EPS Homicide Section said, “While we await additional information from the Medical Examiner, the circumstances surrounding this death now led us to believe it is suspicious.”
