Police investigating 2 ‘targeted and related’ east Edmonton shootings

Edmonton police believe two shootings in east Edmonton from earlier this year – one in February and the other in April – are “targeted and related.”

The Edmonton Police Service is turning to the public in the hopes of finding witnesses and information on the suspects.

On the evening of Feb. 19, police say suspects approached a group of people exiting the Amazone Playzone at Riverview Crossing Shopping Centre in Beverly and fired multiple times at one person.

The man sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries, police say, and several bullets struck nearby homes.

The suspects arrived and fled the scene in two vehicles, which were captured in video surveillance shared by police Thursday. The suspects were last seen heading west on 118 Avenue.

In the early hours of April 6, Edmonton police say three unknown suspects approached a home in Beverly – at 46 Street and 120 Avenue – and fired at least 12 bullets before fleeing on foot. There were no injuries.

Anyone with information or video related to these shootings is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
