Motorcyclist killed in south Edmonton, RCMP looking to speak to second rider

Mounties south of Edmonton say a motorcyclist is dead after a collision on the southern edge of the city.

Leduc RCMP responded to a crash around 7:22 p.m. Wednesday on the QE II Highway near 41 Avenue.

Through the initial stages of an investigation, it is believed a motorcycle was driving at high speeds along QE II, when they tried to exit onto 41 Avenue, lost control and hit the guard rail.

The 34-year-old rider from Leduc was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mounties also believe another motorcyclist was driving on QE II Highway and exited on 41 Avenue around the time of the fatal collision.

The motorcycle has been described as blue with gold accents, and was last seen driving west on 41 Avenue.

RCMP is looking to speak to the rider of that motorcycle.
