A 48-year-old Sherwood Park man is facing drug possession charges after police in Strathcona County pulled over his vehicle and allegedly discovered drugs and contraband cigarettes.
Strathcona County RCMP say they pulled the man over on Aug. 8 following a traffic offence.
“While speaking to the driver, the member observed contraband cigarettes in the vehicle, and the male was arrested,” police said in a news release.
Officers allegedly found 59.53 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3.50 grams of suspected cocaine, a cane with hidden blade, and an undisclosed amount of cash during a search of the vehicle.
Shannon Mark Kelly was charged with multiple drug possession charges. He is scheduled to appear in court in Sherwood Park on Aug. 28.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
