Man charged with attempted murder in Lloydminster

Alberta RCMP say a 23-year-old man is facing five charges including attempted murder following a disturbance at an apartment on Sunday.

Mounties say they received a report of a disturbance around 6:30 p.m., and when they arrived at the apartment complex along 51 Avenue and 34 Street in Lloyminster, they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Officers began providing emergency medical treatment, until paramedics arrived and took her to a hospital. She was then air lifted to Saskatoon via STARS Air Ambulance.

RCMP were able to locate a man believed to be linked to the incident, noting he refused to exit his apartment and a standoff ensued for the next four hours.

After four hours, the man left his apartment and was taken into custody.

Since, 23-year-old Seth Johnson-Larose has been charged with five charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, forcible confinement, assault while choking, and resisting arrest.

Johnson-Larose is expected to appear in court on Apr. 23.
