Alberta RCMP says a man has been charged following a shooting that resulted in a shelter-in-place order being issued Monday morning.
Around 5:46 a.m., on May 6, Strathcona County RCMP received a report of a gun being fired near homes along Range Road 223 in Strathcona County.
Mounties responded to the scene, however by the time they arrived, a man believed to be involved had reportedly returned into his home.
RCMP issued a shelter-in-place order for the surrounding area, due to the uncertainty of the situation.
Officers were able to talk to the man, and quickly de-escalate the situation, and the man surrendered himself to police.
Since, 40-year-old Michael Patrick Campeau has been charged with careless use of a firearm, and discharging a firearm with intent.
He is expected to appear in court on May 8, in Sherwood Park.
