The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival has officially reached its $300,000 fundraising target.
As the 11-day festival wrapped up Sunday, the funds raised through online and onsite donations and 50/50 raffles totaled $242,000 just short of their goal. MHCare Medical then donated $58,000 ensuring the festival reached its total just it time for Fringe’s Holdover Series.
“The Fringe Theatre Festival is one of our city’s iconic events, and we are delighted to provide the funding to close the gap in this year’s fundraising campaign which will bolster future sustainability,” said MHCare Medical’s CEO, Sam Mraiche.
Megan Dart, Fringe Theatre’s Executive Director said that this investment is a testament to the importance of the arts in Edmonton. “Donations like these ensures we can continue to provide artists the tools, platform, and resources they need to reach engaged audiences. It means Fringe Theatre can continue to contribute to the vibrancy of our community and keep Edmonton on the map as a creative destination.”
The fundraising campaign that started with only 34 monthly donors in March, now has over 500 supporters.
