Edmonton police officers getting ready for annual Polar Plunge

Over 100 Edmonton police officers are gearing up to take part in the annual Polar Plunge on Sunday.

The Polar Plunge is a fundraiser for Special Olympics Alberta, which helps athletes with intellectual disabilities overcome challenges and compete in the sports they love.

Police forces along with other first responders across the province have been key partners in raising funds for Special Olympics Alberta.

In addition to the officers taking part in the Polar Plunge, MP Mike Lake, MLA Janice Irwin, EPS Deputy Chief Darren Derko, Fire Chief David Lazenby, Jeff Holland with KISS 91.7, and several Edmonton Elks players will also be taking part.
