Edmonton police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run over the Easter weekend.
EPS says around 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, officers received a report that a vehicle had hit a pedestrian who was trying to cross the road at 104 Avenue and 109 Street.
Reports indicate a 24-year-old man attempted to cross the south curb of 104 Avenue to head north on 109 Street against a light sequence. During this time, the man’s friend grabbed him to pull him back, at the same time as a newer dark-coloured Ford Bronco — which was travelling east on 104 Avenue — hit the 24-year-old.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with serious injuries by paramedics.
Police say the driver of the Ford Bronco did not stop and continued down 104 Avenue, before turning into an alley behind the Dorchester building, where they then stopped to check for damage.
Police have released a video of the vehicle and the driver in an attempt to identify them.

“We encourage the driver pictured in the video to contact us,” says major collision investigator Const. Jeffrey Strickland. “There could be visible damage to the right side of the Bronco, which the driver stopped to check for immediately following the collision.”
The driver has been described as tall in stature with light hair that appeared to be in a low bun or ponytail, at the time they were wearing a light blue long-sleeve shirt and dark-coloured shorts at the time of the collision.
If anyone has any information regarding the driver or the vehicle, contact investigators at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
