The City of Edmonton’s extreme heat response is over.
The decision to end the heat response after nearly 10 days was made because of rain in the forecast for Thursday, and with temperatures set to drop.
The heat wave response began July 15, with Edmonton and several parts of Alberta seeing temperatures soar above 30 degrees Celsius.
The City of Edmonton says drinking water will remain available 24/7 at water bottle filling stations attached to fire hydrants until Sept. 30.
There are an additional 24 water bottle filling stations throughout LRT and Transit Centres that Edmontonians can use, the city said in a news release.
