Alberta RCMP has launched a new rural Crime Stoppers campaign.
Officials say that while policing is a critical component of public safety, law enforcement alone cannot address the complex challenges communities face. The campaign aims at promoting citizen-led organizations that are instrumental in fostering community bonds, providing valuable insights, and building partnerships that support community needs that enhance public safety.
Chief Superintendent Peter Tewfik, the officer in charge of Community Safety and Well-being says, “No one knows a community as well as its residents. The volunteer-led organizations act as an extra set of eyes and ears and will closely work with their local Alberta RCMP detachments.”
Crime Stoppers empowers citizens to anonymously report crime.
