A 41-year-old woman died in hospital a week after a collision in the area of Yellowhead Trail and 66 street.
Edmonton police responded to the collision on Jan. 1st at approximately 4:15 a.m.
It was reported that a 41-year-old man was driving a Toyota Rav 4 while traveling northbound on 66 Street and entered the intersection to make a left turn onto westbound Yellowhead Trail.
At the same time a Jeep Compass driven by the woman was traveling eastbound on Yellowhead Trail when it entered the intersection at 66 Street against the red light at a high rate of speed and collided with the Toyota.
Both drivers were rushed to hospital.
The woman was critically injured, while the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
On Monday, the driver of the Jeep succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
