Why Wetaskiwin wants to steam its garbage

The County of Wetaskiwin, south of Edmonton, is looking to adopt a new Canadian-developed technology that could divert 90 per cent of its waste from the landfill. The county has signed a memorandum of understanding with Halifax-based Sustane Technologies to use steam to break down trash destined for the dump.
