A later-than-usual snow melt is expected as a stretch of 30-plus degree days moves into Alberta’s mountain parks, where there is still a significant amount of snowpack. John Pomeroy, a water and climate change expert from the University of Saskatchewan, says the heat will cause a rapid melt.
