New high school opening in southeast Edmonton

Edmonton’s newest public high school, Elder Dr. Francis Whiskeyjack, opens this week in the Meadows. The school will welcome 850 students in grades 10 and 11 this year. Grade 12 will be added next year. At 21,818 square metres, with 103 classrooms and room for 2,400 students, it’s the first new public high school in Edmonton since Dr. Anne Anderson High School opened in 2021.
