New high school in southeast Edmonton

Edmonton’s newest public high school, Elder Dr. Francis Whiskeyjack opens this week in the Meadows neighbourhood.
The school will welcome 850 students in grades 10 and 11 this year. Grade 12 will be added next year.
It’s a whopping 21,818 square metres, with 103 classrooms and room for 2,400 students.
The school is Edmonton public’s first new high school since Dr. Anne Anderson High School opened in 2021.
