Environment Canada has cancelled a tornado warning for the Fort Saskatchewan area, but severe thunderstorm warnings and watches are in effect throughout the Edmonton region.

Environment Canada has cancelled a tornado warning for the Fort Saskatchewan area, but severe thunderstorm warnings and watches are in effect throughout the Edmonton region.
Fort Saskatchewan is currently under a severe thunderstorm warning and there are several severe thunderstorm watches in effect in the region, including in Edmonton.
The storms are located near Lamont and moving northeast at 15 km/h, according to the warning issued for Fort Saskatchewan.
“Large hail can damage property and cause injury,” the warning says. “Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.”
No rainfall warnings are in effect in northwestern Alberta.
