As the Alberta government is introducing changes to parental permissions around pronouns and sexual education, the 1 Million March 4 Children protestors lined the street outside the Alberta Teachers’ Association office for the second year in a row. The group says that they are focused on parental rights and protecting vulnerable children, even while the province is introducing some of the policies they are calling for. Counter-protesters feel this rally is part of rising public anit-2SLGBTQ+ sentiment and made their voices heard across the street. CBC’s Travis McEwan was at the event and breaks down what both sides are saying.
