Police seek potential witness after woman, 31, found dead in Mill Creek Ravine

Edmonton police are looking for a possible witness after a woman’s body was found in Mill Creek Ravine last week.

An autopsy determined 31-year-old Threna Waskahat’s death was a homicide. Police have not released her cause of death for “investigative reasons.”

Waskahat’s body was discovered June 29 around 8:30 a.m. by firefighters after putting out a fire in the area.

The Edmonton Police Service has identified a vehicle whose occupant or occupants may have witnessed activity related to the homicide.

Investigators believe a grey Hyundai Santa Fe SUV – a model from 2012 to 2017 – was parked in the Mill Creek Ravine parking lot prior to the arrival of fire crews at 8:12 a.m.

Police shared photos of the vehicle captured by nearby surveillance cameras.

Anyone with information is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
