Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid stars in funny new television ad

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid recently starred in a television ad which fans are likely to see plenty of moving forward.

The Oilers captain, who is the face of the NHL, has plenty of endorsement deals. Prior to the 2023-24 season, Forbes estimated that he was making roughly $5 million annually off of his partnerships, which are included, but not limited to, BetMGM, CIBC, CCM, and Go Auto.

A lesser-known partnership McDavid has, dating back to at least 2016, is with RE/MAX, a well-known real estate company. The 28-year-old recently starred in a commercial with them, which they shared on YouTube two weeks ago.

In the ad, McDavid talks to a real estate agent, though he seems far more focused on hockey than buying a home.

“I think I can still be better at shooting off the pass,” McDavid says to the puzzled real-estate agent. “And maybe, if I work my blade angle, I can improve my backhand in tight spaces. But the real question, would tweaking my top hand grip pressure improve my accuracy?”

The ad has picked up steam over the past 24 hours, as the currently suspended McDavid shared it to his Instagram page yesterday afternoon.

Hockey fans flooded the comments on McDavid’s newest post, with one writing, “Can’t suspend the ad game.”
