Pump up: Gas prices poised to fall in Alberta today

If you’re a driver in Alberta who’s been putting off filling your gas tank, some good news is on the horizon: prices at the pump are about to take a dip.

According to the gas price forecasting site Gas Wizard, drivers in Alberta’s major cities can expect a little bit of relief today as fuel prices are projected to decrease.

On Thursday, January 9, regular gas prices in Calgary are set to drop by two cents, bringing the cost down to $1.40 per litre.

Premium gas will also see a similar reduction, dipping two cents to $1.70 per litre.

Diesel prices in YYC aren’t expected to change on Thursday, remaining at $1.59 per litre.

Meanwhile, in Edmonton, the price of regular gas is forecast to drop by three cents on Thursday, bringing the new price to $1.32 per litre.

Premium fuel in Edmonton is also expected to see a three-cent drop to $1.59 per litre.

Similar to Calgary, diesel users in YEG won’t see a price difference, remaining at $1.57 per litre, according to Gas Wizard.
