An iconic Alberta mountain town was just named the top place to visit in Canada in 2025 by an American media and publishing company.
US News & World Report released its list of 15 Best Places to Visit in Canada for 2025 and Banff snagged the top spot in the country.
The list was created through a combination of “several factors, such as affordability, entertainment options and diversity of hotels and resorts, as well as user votes and expert opinions.”
Banff was the sole spot in Alberta to make the cut and it knocked out some pretty impressive contenders for the top placement, including Quebec City, Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Whistler, and Toronto.
“Surrounded by the Canadian Rockies, this tiny mountain town in Alberta appeals to both nature enthusiasts and luxury seekers,” reads the article.
It also added the town is a great spot thanks to being nestled within Banff National Park allowing for plenty of skiing and hiking, along with the chance to visit Moraine Lake and Lake Louise.
Some of the recommended adventures on the list include the Banff Gondola, a trip out to the Columbia Icefields, and even making the trek out to Yoho National Park.
Banff is no stranger when it comes to international recognition, with another publication touting it as a top place to visit in Canada in 2025, too.
