The City Hall parkade will reopen its doors at the end of the week after being closed for nearly a year, just in time to accommodate downtown visitors during the holidays.
The parkade has been closed to the public after a heavily armed man fired a gun and threw a molotov cocktail inside city hall last January.
According to a media release from the city, new signs are already in place to guide drivers inside the parkade.
Hours and access
The parkade will be open to the public starting Friday everyday from 7:45 a.m. to 12 a.m. with no public access outside of operating hours.
City Hall is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be accessed from the parkade using the elevators on parking levels P1 and P3.
Pedestrians can get to the parkade through a street-level door located on the southeast side of the building from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.
The city said there is no access from the Churchill LRT station pedway to the parkade and that people who need access to the pedway need to exit the parkade.
Parking Rates
During the week, parking costs $5 per hour or $20 for the day from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m or $15 for the evening from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Weekend parkade rates are $2 per hour or $10 per day or evening.
Larger events at Rogers Place may drive up the cost of parking.
EPark pay machines are available for ease of purchase and are located near the P1 and P3 elevators and near the LRT pedway on the P3 level.
