Nearly $50,000 raised for Alberta family who lost father of three in farming accident

Nearly $50,000 has been raised in a GoFundMe for the family of Kyle Hoefels in central Alberta after he was killed in a farming accident over the weekend.

Hoefels was killed on December 1 near the hamlet of Rich Valley, leaving behind his wife, Kristina, and their three young children — Tanner, Harper, and Sawyer.

A GoFundMe set up by family members said, “Kyle was loved very much by his family, friends, and all who knew him and he will be forever present in their hearts.”

“He was truly one of a kind, always one to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. His good nature made him easy to talk to about everything from farming to the Oilers, and he had an incredible knack to build or fix absolutely anything. He was a heck of a ball player, the center of connection amongst his friend group, and a remarkable husband and father to his family.”

The fund has been set up for Hoefels’ family for those who wish to contribute, with all money raised going directly to Kristina and the kids.
