If you’re looking to make extra cash this winter, there are plenty of companies with tons of seasonal jobs up for grabs, according to Indeed.
It’s peak hiring season if you’re looking for temporary jobs as stores brace themselves for the rush of gift-giving season.
Indeed released its seasonal hiring report, which found that seasonal job postings in Canada are actually down 15% from 2023.
“While this number is substantially lower than the heights seasonal jobs reached in 2022, and 16% below the same point in 2019—that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities to be found,” stated the job search site.
Indeed says this is the best time to get a foot in the door at companies you might be interested in working for long-term. That’s because seasonal jobs can sometimes turn into long-term positions after the holiday rush.
“And if you’re new to retail work, a seasonal job provides an excellent opportunity to try out an organization and assess if the company culture is in line with the kind of working environment you see yourself growing in,” the job site added.
