Edmonton Oilers were teasing “Icetom,” and here’s what it means

Many people in Edmonton have been wondering what Icetom, a logo that the Oilers Entertainment Group (EOG) has been teasing on its social media.

The Edmonton Oilers made a cryptic post last week regarding Icetom, sending many people into a frenzy regarding what it could be about.

The speculation came to a close Wednesday morning when OEG Sports & Entertainment announced the launch of Icetom, a new online marketplace that will operate across Canada.

It’s touted as a “first of its kind for a Canadian sports and entertainment company,” with the store offering 90 of the top Canadian and American athletic, style, and outdoor apparel brands like Adidas, Under Armour, Nike, New Balance, PUMA, Patagonia, Travis Mathew and more with thousands of products.

In addition to top brands, Icetom is also aiming to illuminate new, up-and-coming brand names.

“As an established sports and entertainment brand, we believe in a healthy and active lifestyle, and we also believe in the unique style of Canadians from coast to coast to coast,” said Stew MacDonald, president of OEG Sports & Entertainment, in a news release. “With so many options available out there for apparel and accessories, ICETOM brings together the most popular and emerging brands and thousands of products into one convenient, secure and trusted online marketplace.”
